Praying for GIGs...

Hi Everyone,

See the next post for an incredible story of God's work among Greek students at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, but for now, I wanted to invite you to be praying with me as we start this semester for a couple really key points. Perhaps you'd be willing to pray once a day for the following two things or on a particular day of the week (like Tuesday, for insteance) through the month of February and March...

  1. One of our key initiatives on campus is to invite our current students to consider leading scripture discussion groups for their friends who aren't following Jesus (we call them Groups Investigating God--GIGs). Many of our campuses will be launching major GIG initiatives in the weeks before Spring Break. I'm praying for 30+ GIGs to happen all over the state, so please join me in praying that GOD WOULD SEND OUT STUDENTS INTO HIS HARVEST FIELD (LUKE 10:2).
  2. GIGs are a terrific way both for students to own their faith with their friends, but even moreso for students who aren't following Jesus to see him in new ways that they might give their lives to him! Please join me in praying that GOD WOULD OPEN EYES TO SEE THE GOSPEL (II Cor. 4:4) of these students and that A GREAT NUMBER WOULD BELIEVE AND TURN TO THE LORD! (Acts 11.24)
Thanks everyone, I can't wait to share stories of how God answers your prayers!

With Great Expectancy,
Jon
